WARNING: Beware of anybody claiming the RuneScape 3d beta is available. It is NOT yet available.

We are aware of a fake program, which pretends to be our 3d update, but actually steals your password.

Do NOT download or run any programs claiming to be RuneScape from ANYWHERE except runescape.com ever!

When the real version of the 3d update is ready it will be announced here on "runescape.com"

The undeniable results of our recent Poll supporting Guthix as the god most players would like to hear from has dragged this elusive deity from whatever exactly it is he does for a living to answer some of your questions.
In very great depth.

You can see what this mysterious and previously hidden god has to say for himself in letters 12 available to read now.

I know lots of you are wondering how the RuneScape engine update is progressing so I've taken a few minutes to update my progress chart with the latest figures.

This is my personal progress chart, and so only show aspects of the update that I am working on. We'll probably get some of the other staff who are converting the maps and quests, to post their own progress reports too.

       Andrew

Andrew's progress chart for RuneScape-Engine-Update

White numbers indicate progress as of 27th Apr
Yellow numbers indicate updated progress as of 16th Jun

Please note you can't easily work out a release date from these numbers since the tasks are not all the same size or difficulty. For example the script interpreter is probably as complex as all the secondary tasks put together since it controls every single aspect of the game.

Not only are the tasks different sizes, but also as more tasks are completed it is possible to reuse earlier code more. For example the close-range combat took a long time to do, but the other combat types will be able to reuse much of the same code so should be far faster to complete. This is why it is difficult for us to give an exact release date

Our new Australasia server has been running for a while now. We want to be sure our players from that part of the world are getting the benefit we hoped, so we are running a poll to check.

Please vote below to indicate how the new server performs for you. Whilst this server is primarily intended for Australasian players you can still vote no matter where you live, we will split the results by country later.

June 9, 2003:

       "Sarge, come quick!"
       "What is it lad?"
"We've had a messenger from the Sinclair Mansion; seems like someone's done in old Lord Sinclair"
A murder? Here? On his watch? This wasn't good news.

The fact that the old Lord was a close personal friend of the King didn't make it any better. Someone was going to pay for the crime, and he had a horrible feeling if it wasn't the murderer it was going to be him.
He called all guards not on active duty to the barracks.

"Right lads, all leave is suspended as of now. We want every spare man at the mansion going over it with a fine tooth comb. Anyone have any complaints about it?"
The junior guards could see the expression on his face and decided not to raise any objections.

"Excellent. See you all at the Sinclair Mansion in 10 minutes. And we're not leaving until we've caught the villain."
As the guards left in single file he hoped they found the culprit quickly; murders didn't happen very often and failing to solve the killing of a friend of the King wouldn't help his career prospects much.

As the last guard left he muttered under his breath
"Yes, this is a real murder mystery alright..."
