November 1 | November 2 | November 8 | November 17 | November 24 | November 29 November 29, 2004: One of the ships of Rellekka is setting sail for two of the former Fremennik colonies - the now independent island of Miscellania and its smaller sister island of Etceteria. These islands are said to have prospered in recent years and now have their own castles, a bank, a blacksmith and a healthy market trade in fish and vegetables. However, rumours have been coming back from Miscellania that all is not well. It is said that the king has been turned into a monster! An exceptional hero is required to investigate. Maybe in the end there might even be the opportunity for the right person to take the reins and try to rule over the land themselves. The road to power is not a straightforward one though, experience in wooing royalty and negotiating peace would be an advantage. The residents of Miscellania Castle are widely regarded as some of the hardest workers ever seen... A well respected Monarch should have no problems in convincing his subjects to collect raw materials for "royal inspection", though gaining and maintaining that respect could prove another challenge in itself. For the Throne of Miscellania quest you will need to have completed the Hero's Quest and The Fremennik Trials; it would be an advantage to have at least one of the following skills: 30 Mining, 35 Fishing, 35 Herblore, or 45 Woodcutting. To start, take the ship from Rellekka to Miscellania and speak to King Vargas. PS: For those of our players who like to express themselves, there is also a new emote to enjoy called "blow kiss". We hope you like it. November 24, 2004: We've just put another six game worlds online. Two of these are additional ones at abovenet, and there are four at a new location - Amsterdam. The new worlds in Amsterdam should have good links to most of Europe, they certainly seem to work well from here in England. So hopefully lots of people will find them useful. The Prince of Burthorpe is well known for his love of games and puzzles. The Prince has decided to open his games rooms to the public, this way he can attract the best gamers from around RuneScape! The stairs down to the Burthorpe Games Rooms can be found in the entrance hall of the Prince's Castle in Burthorpe. There is no entrance fee and there is a bar to relax in between matches. Currently you can play Runelink and Draughts. Draughts uses the standard rules except for: a draw is declared if no piece has been taken or promoted for forty moves. In Runelink you have to connect four runes in a row to win. We have also made it so that you can enchant the sapphire necklace using the enchant lvl-1 Jewellery spell to give a games necklace. Rubbing this will teleport you to the games room. The games necklace works in much the same way as the ring of duelling, as it has eight charges and will disappear when you have used all of them. Some people may notice the fountain of heros has moved into the underground section of the hero's guild. This is because the new games necklace teleports players near to the hero's guild. As the dragonstone amulet is a form of teleporting which uses up absolutely no player resources we didn't want it to be too quick to recharge. It is still quicker to get from the games room to the new fountain of heros than it was to get from Falador to the old fountain of heros. November 17, 2004: Ever felt lost looking for Rellekka? Don't know where to find Mort'ton? Or perhaps you just want to know where the latest quests start? Then check out our updated World Map which now shows all the new areas we've added recently. The Lighthouse protecting unwary ships from Kandarin's hazardous North-western coastline has recently ceased to function, and the Council have become very concerned about the potential hazard to shipping that may result from this.
The Council would therefore like any adventurers passing by the area to
investigate the lighthouse and discover what has happened to the lighthouse
keeper Jossik. November 8, 2004: A recent expedition by our hard working Cartographers Guild has enabled us to bring you this hand drawn map of the runescape world to use as a tapestry to decorate your desktop with.
Sadly, the mapping team we sent into The Wilderness have not yet returned, and
are missing, presumed dead. November 2, 2004: The council would like to inform our citizens that our recent restoration work on the footpath leading to the Barbarian town of Rellekka, North-west of Sinclair Mansion, has now been completed.
Those traders and adventurers who have been seeking access to this (slightly
backwards) region of RuneScape may now do so using the provided footbridge. November 1, 2004: Curious players looking for enlightenment in their daily training will be pleased to know that the ever popular deity of honour and goodness Saradomin has returned once more to spread his wisdom amongst his followers in Letters 26. As always, players wishing to hear what the lord of order has to say for himself, and wishing to contemplate his words for a deeper truth, will find his latest letters to his followers inscribed for posterity in the ever-expanding Library of Varrock. |
