  • Runecrafting: To use this skill, you must first complete the Rune Mysteries Quest.  Then you can be teleported to a mysterious ice field where you can mine rune essence, which can be charged in any of the mysterious ruins.  To find the ruins, use each talisman's locate command.  To enter the ruins, use the talisman with the ruins.  Note that some talismans may be denoted as members only because their ruins are located in a members area.  This does not mean that F2P players can't get these talismans, just that they have no use for them.  Also note that even if you don't have the runecrafting lvl to make a rune, you can still obtain its talisman and enter its mysterious ruins.

  • Making Runes: Click on the altar inside the ruins to change all of the rune essences in your inventory into that type of rune.  Enter the portal to exit the ruins, or just use one of the teleport spells.

Note: It has been discovered that once a player reaches a certain lvl of runecrafting, he/she can then use one essence to make multiple runes (Example: At lvl 27, one essence will make 3 Air runes.  However, you will only get the xp of crafting the one essence, not the xp from crafting 3 Air runes).  This site has more info on lvls where multiple runes can be made from one essence.
